Kathmandu: The current weather in Nepal presents a mixed picture, with partly cloudy skies prevailing over Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the rest of the country enjoys fair weather conditions.
According to the latest update from the Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, Nepal is currently under the influence of westerly winds coupled with local wind patterns.
This afternoon, residents can expect partly cloudy conditions in hilly regions, while the weather will remain predominantly fair in other areas. However, there is a forecast of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in certain hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Additionally, isolated instances of light snowfall are likely in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki and Karnali provinces, with the possibility of thunderstorms in select locations within Lumbini, Sudurpaschim, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
Tonight, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy throughout the country. Light snowfall and rain may occur in specific high hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki Province.
Over the next 24 hours, there is a potential for light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in certain hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Similarly, light snowfall is anticipated in isolated high hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki and Karnali provinces, with the likelihood of gusty winds in certain areas of Lumbini, Sudurpaschim, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
In light of these weather predictions, the Weather Forecasting Division has urged residents in these areas to take necessary precautionary measures to ensure their safety and well-being.
